Numerator review
·
Numerator sells a consumer panel and five products built on it: Insights, TruView, Verified Voices, Promotions and Data Feeds, describing itself as running on “proprietary, zero-party purchase and survey data from more than one million households.” This review is in progress. What follows is the short version; the full scored review against our four-pillar methodology comes later.
The panel, and the number that matters
The common shorthand for Numerator is app-based receipt scanning through its Receipt Hog app, which is accurate but incomplete: the panel also draws on paper receipts, retailer loyalty data, mobile app purchases and email.
The one-million-household headline is not one panel but four, and they differ sharply in size:
- Measurement Panel (behind TruView): 1M+ active households
- Survey Panel (behind Verified Voices): 600,000 panelists
- Total Commerce Panel (behind Numerator Insights, the flagship product): 200,000 households
- Test Panel: 50,000
That 200,000 figure is the one to hold onto when evaluating Insights for a niche brand or a thin retailer-category cell.
Company and ownership
Numerator is headquartered at 24 E. Washington Street in Chicago and was acquired from Vista Equity Partners in 2021 in a deal led by Bain Capital. It states on its own site that it “is not owned or operated by Kantar.” In January 2025, Numerator and Kantar Worldpanel announced they would combine into a single global consumer data company operating under the Numerator name.
Pricing and ratings
None published on any product, and its Vendr marketplace page carries no median contract value or purchase count. Numerator Insights sits at 4.6 out of 5 across 42 G2 reviews; at seller level Numerator carries 4.5 out of 5 across 125 reviews, both accessed 16 August 2026. Reviewer complaints cluster on sample size for niche brands, limited ecommerce coverage, and add-ons that raise the bill.
Who it's for
Numerator claims 54% of the Fortune 100 as customers and names Albertsons, Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Kraft Heinz and HP among them. Coverage is US and Canada natively; the roughly 50-country figure comes through the Worldpanel combination. Nothing on the site targets a small brand.
