Reddit earns 79.3% of its revenue in the US from 40.8% of its daily users, so international growth adds people faster than it adds dollars.

Logged-out visitors were 59.6% of the daily audience in Q2 2026 and grew 27% in a year, against 7% for logged-in users.

Reddit publishes daily and weekly counts of Reddit users only, so any monthly active user number is a third party's estimate.

Reddit averaged 130.3 million daily active uniques from April to June 2026 and booked $805 million in revenue, up 61% year-over-year, according to its Q2 2026 results. Net income for the quarter was $252.8 million, 31.4% of revenue. That release is the latest complete set of figures, since Q3 2026 results weren't out as of October 4, 2026.

Those statistics come from one filing. Most Reddit stats quoted online come from somewhere else, and lists of them are a dime a dozen: traffic estimates from Similarweb, survey shares from Pew Research Center, referral shares from Statcounter. Each one measures a different thing, which is why the same question gets four answers.

This report collects Reddit stats from the bodies that published them: Reddit's SEC filings and quarterly releases, Pew's 2025 survey, Similarweb's August 2026 estimates and Statcounter's September 2026 referral data. It covers users, revenue, traffic, demographics, posts and comments, and every figure was checked on October 4, 2026. It's written for marketers, analysts and researchers sizing Reddit as an ad channel, a traffic source or a data source.

How many people use Reddit: 130.3 million a day, 514.6 million a week

Reddit counts a daily active unique as a user it can identify with a unique identifier who opens a page on reddit.com or the app at least once in 24 hours, averaged across the quarter. On that definition it averaged 130.3 million DAUq in Q2 2026, up 18% from 110.4 million a year earlier.

The weekly number is four times larger. Weekly active uniques reached 514.6 million, up 24% from 416.4 million, so daily users were 25.3% of weekly users (our calculation from the Q2 2026 release). CEO Steve Huffman told analysts on the July 30, 2026 earnings call that the goal is 1 billion daily users worldwide and 100 million in the US.

The quarter before, Q1 2026, averaged 126.8 million DAUq, per the April 30, 2026 release. Huffman said the focus is converting weekly users into daily ones, and he called new user retention one of the company's most important metrics. New app user retention was up 50% year-over-year on a relative basis in Q2.

Reddit's widest published audience count is that 514.6 million WAUq. The company files no monthly active user figure with the SEC, and the monthly active user estimates above 1 billion that circulate in AI answers come from outside its filings.

Logged-in and logged-out Reddit users

Logged-out visitors carried the growth. Logged-out DAUq rose 27% to 77.7 million in Q2 2026, while logged-in DAUq rose 7% to 52.6 million. Outside the US the logged-out count grew 41% to 47.6 million. These are people reading threads and comments without a Reddit log-in, and they now make up 59.6% of the daily audience. From April to June 2026 the largest increase of any user group came from international logged-out visitors.

Bar chart of Reddit's average daily active uniques by log-in status: logged-in users rose from 49.3 million in Q2 2025 to 52.6 million in Q2 2026, up 7 percent, while logged-out users rose from 61.1 million to 77.7 million, up 27 percent
Logged-out visitors added 16.6 million daily users in a year, five times the 3.3 million logged-in users added.

Reddit's 10-K says the company is working on less friction in onboarding for new users, which is where a logged-out reader turns into someone with a Reddit log-in. Keep an eye on this split while it lasts.

CFO Drew Vollero said on the same call that Q2 2026 is the last quarter Reddit reports it. From the Q3 2026 disclosures, the logged-in and logged-out lines are removed, leaving total US and international daily and weekly counts.

Reddit revenue, profit and ARPU by quarter

Reddit's revenue reached $2.2 billion in 2025, up 69%, with $2.1 billion from advertising and $140 million in other revenue, per its Q4 2025 release dated February 5, 2026. Net income was $530 million. A year earlier it posted a $484.3 million net loss on $1.3 billion of revenue.

Sources: Reddit's Q3 2025, Q4 2025, Q1 2026 and Q2 2026 results. The Q2 2025 row comes from the year-ago columns in the Q2 2026 release, and Q1 2026 is the six-month total minus Q2.

Bar chart of Reddit quarterly revenue from Reddit's results releases: $499.6 million in Q2 2025, $585.0 million in Q3 2025, $725.6 million in Q4 2025, $663.4 million in Q1 2026 and $804.9 million in Q2 2026, with average daily active uniques rising from 110.4 million to 130.3 million over the same quarters
Revenue grew 61% and daily users 18% between Q2 2025 and Q2 2026.

Revenue fell 8.6% from Q4 2025 to Q1 2026 (our calculation), then set a quarterly record at $804.9 million in Q2. Q1 is the January to March quarter. Revenue for January to June 2026 came to $1,468.3 million, up 65% on the $892.0 million of the first half of 2025.

Average revenue per unique (ARPU) is Reddit's quarterly revenue divided by average DAUq. It was $6.18 in Q2 2026, up 36% from $4.53. In Q4 2024 it was $4.21, which is $427.7 million of revenue over 101.7 million DAUq from the Q4 2025 release's year-ago columns.

Reddit guided Q3 2026 revenue to $860 million to $870 million when it reported on July 30. Last year's Q3 results came out on October 30, 2025.

Reddit ad revenue and advertisers

Reddit keeps nearly all its eggs in one basket. Ad revenue was $1,185.5 million in 2024 ($1.3 billion total minus $114.7 million of other revenue in the Q4 2024 release dated February 12, 2025), then grew 74% in 2025.

  • Q2 2026 ad revenue: $762 million, up 64%, 94.7% of total revenue (our calculation)
  • Q2 2026 other revenue: $43 million, up 24%
  • Active advertisers: up over 70% year-over-year in Q2 2026
  • Scale channel (mid-market and small business) revenue: doubled year-over-year
  • Conversion volume: up over 100%, and click volume up over 30%

Automation drove part of it. In January 2026 Reddit introduced a beta of Max campaigns, its automated campaign type, per the 10-K. By Q2 the number of advertisers using Max grew over 60% from Q1, and Max revenue grew over 150%.

COO Jen Wong said on the July 30 call that ad growth came from both pricing and impressions, and that shopping conversations on Reddit grew 40% year-over-year. Ad buyers who track competitor creative on the platform can compare tools in our ad intelligence software ranking.

Reddit's community data products for brands and publishers

Reddit sells its own comments back to marketers as data. Reddit Community Intelligence, per the 10-K, blends AI with real user perspectives. It powers Reddit Insights, which the filing calls an AI-powered social listening tool, and Conversation Summary Add-ons, which put summaries of community conversations inside ads.

Publishers and brands engage through separate programs:

  • Reddit Pro for publishers: early adopters include The Atlantic, The Hill, NBC News and The Associated Press, which sync their feeds and track how their stories are shared
  • AMA (Ask Me Anything) features for creators and publishers hosting question threads with their audience
  • A limited test of verified profiles for individuals and businesses that want to confirm who they are
  • Dynamic Product Ads, which advertisers build directly from their product catalog
  • A Shopify integration, generally available since May 2026, with over 500 active accounts by the July 30 call

The targeting is based on context and interest. The 10-K's own example is an advertiser with a camping product reaching people who love outdoor activities across Reddit, with r/camping and r/Outdoors named as interest communities, and the filing says ad performance draws on first-party data from what users do on Reddit. Teams that would otherwise build a listening dataset from scratch treat the same community data as a consumer intelligence source.

Reddit users by region: 59.2% of daily users live outside the US

International users are the majority and the faster-growing group. In the April to June 2026 quarter, 40.8% of Reddit's daily active uniques were in the US. Reddit counted 77.1 million international DAUq, up 28%, against 53.2 million US DAUq, up 6%. Its 2025 annual report puts the non-US share of Redditors at about 57% in Q4 2025 and says over 90% of posts created that quarter were in English, so community growth abroad leans on translation.

Machine translation is the lever. As of December 31, 2025 it was live in 35 languages, and roughly 1 billion posts had been translated, according to the same 10-K.

The money runs the other way, and the US takes the lion's share. The reason is ARPU: US ARPU was $11.85 in Q2 2026 against $2.26 internationally, a 5.2x gap. US revenue of $638.1 million was 79.3% of the total, although international revenue grew faster, up 84% to $166.8 million.

Similarweb's country distribution for reddit.com desktop traffic in August 2026 tilts toward English-speaking markets:

  • United States: 47.02%
  • United Kingdom: 6.53%
  • Canada: 6.22%
  • Australia: 3.53%
  • Germany: 3.29%
  • Every other region combined: 33.41%

Reddit users by age and gender

Pew Research Center found that 26% of US adults use Reddit, up from 18% in 2021, in a survey of 5,022 adults fielded from February 5 to June 18, 2025. Use falls with age, per Pew's social media fact sheet:

  • Ages 18 to 29: 48%
  • Ages 30 to 49: 35%
  • Ages 50 to 64: 16%
  • Ages 65 and older: 6%

Men use it more, and younger adults engage most. Pew puts Reddit use at 29% of US men and 23% of US women. Education splits it wider, with about four in ten college graduates on Reddit against 28% of adults with some college and 15% with a high school diploma or less.

Similarweb's visitor model shows a gender distribution of 62.25% male and 37.75% female for reddit.com in August 2026. Its age distribution puts 25 to 34 year olds first at 30.23%, then 18 to 24 at 29.18%, with 40.59% of visitors aged 35 or older (our sum of its four older brackets). That puts 59.41% of reddit.com visitors between 18 and 34.

Reddit traffic statistics from Similarweb and Statcounter

Similarweb ranked reddit.com 7th in the world by visits in its August 2026 top websites list, behind Google, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, ChatGPT and X. The reddit.com profile puts it 5th in the US. Its traffic statistics show about 4.2 billion visits to reddit.com in August 2026, with a 43.01% bounce rate and 4.83 pages per visit.

Similarweb metric, August 2026reddit.com
Monthly traffic (visits)4.2B
Change on July 2026-3.22%
Bounce rate43.01%
Pages per visit4.83
Average visit duration (min:sec)5:44
Desktop visits from organic search57.39%

Organic search sends the biggest slice of that desktop traffic. Huffman said on the July 30 call that search referrals were choppy in the quarter, with traffic more volatile later in it, and that visibility into referral traffic "remains low". Our AI traffic report tracks the same shift from the publisher side.

Statcounter measures something else, the share of page views referred by social platforms to sites running its tracking code. Reddit's market share on that basis was 2.43% worldwide in September 2026 and 5.43% in the US, fourth behind Facebook at 64.26%, Twitter at 14.5% and Pinterest at 6.78%. Tools that analyze these numbers site by site are compared in our website traffic analysis tools ranking and our Similarweb review.

Why the published Reddit figures diverge

Every publisher above counts a different unit, and the devil's in the details. Reddit counts identifiable people per day and per week. Similarweb counts visits and labels them as its own estimates. Pew counts US adults who say they ever use the site. Statcounter counts referred page views. Revenue gives a larger US share than any user count. Each count answers its own question, and dropping one into a calculation built on another produces a wrong number.

Horizontal bar chart of the US share of Reddit measured four ways: 79.3 percent of Q2 2026 revenue, 47.0 percent of Similarweb's August 2026 desktop visits, 40.8 percent of Q2 2026 daily active uniques and 38.3 percent of Q2 2026 weekly active uniques
The US share of Reddit ranges from 38.3% to 79.3% depending on the measure, two of them published by Reddit itself.

Read between the lines on any single US share and the measure decides the answer:

  • Revenue: 79.3% US, because US ARPU is 5.2x international ARPU
  • Similarweb desktop visits: 47.02% US, a desktop-only traffic estimate
  • Reddit DAUq: 40.8% US (53.2 million of 130.3 million)
  • Reddit WAUq: 38.3% US (197.2 million of 514.6 million)

The gap is larger on gender. Similarweb models 62.25% of reddit.com visitors as male. Pew's numbers are based on a survey, and it finds 29% of US men and 23% of US women use Reddit, which is reach within each sex, while Similarweb's figure describes the makeup of the site's visitors.

Time spent is the weakest number in circulation. Minutes-per-day claims for Reddit trace to third-party models: Reddit's filings carry user counts and revenue, and Similarweb's 5 minutes 44 seconds is the average time per visit. From Q3 2026 the removed logged-in and logged-out split takes the 77.7 million logged-out figure out of Reddit's reporting too. Our social media statistics report runs into the same unit problem across every platform.

Subreddit, posts and comments statistics

Reddit's 10-K counts over 100,000 active communities. Each community is organized around a specific interest or topic and is called a subreddit, with its own rules and volunteer moderators. Through December 31, 2025 users had written over 2 billion posts and over 22 billion comments across those subreddit communities.

Huffman said on the Q2 2026 call that about 1 billion posts and comments were added after the first quarter, bringing the total to 26 billion. That works out to roughly 11 comments for every post in the archive (our calculation from the 10-K's two totals). For sentiment research, the comments hold most of each community's text.

How a subreddit community is run

Every post and comment starts with one upvote, voting is anonymous, and content earns its place on a subreddit's front page through the community's votes, per the 10-K. Each subreddit writes its own rules, and its volunteer moderators enforce them alongside the site-wide Reddit Rules.

Reddit's admins act above that layer. The Mod Insights dashboard gives subreddit moderators community views, unique visits by platform and membership growth, the change in subscribers, for each community over 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or 12 months, and reports admin removals of content in its own section, with that data starting in September 2023.

Public subreddit counts changed in 2026. Per Reddit Help, community pages on the apps and the updated reddit.com now show weekly visitors, a 28-day rolling average of unique users over 7 days, and weekly contributions, the posts and comments made in the past 7 days. Both replace total subscribers, and removed content is excluded from both.

Community examples Reddit names in its filings

The 10-K picks its examples to show range. Each community below is named in the annual report, grouped by the reason Reddit gives for citing it:

  • Learning and support: r/explainlikeimfive, r/lgbt and r/BeyondTheBump
  • Brands answering customers: r/sonos and r/fidelityinvestments
  • Breakout communities as the headlines evolved: r/law, r/pluribusTV, r/labubu, r/kpopdemonhunters and r/marvelrivals
  • Long-running interest communities: r/parenting, r/NFL, r/meditation and r/solotravel

Activity per user is rising too. Huffman said on the July 30 call that posts and comments per logged-in daily user were up globally and in the US in Q2 2026. Some community members go further and write code, building bots and features through Reddit's open API, per the 10-K.

Brands that want to analyze what gets said in comment threads use listening software. Our social listening tools ranking covers the tools that track subreddit comments, mentions and community sentiment over time.

Reddit search, data licensing and AI statistics

Reddit is a search destination in its own right. Over 80 million people searched on Reddit each week in Q4 2025, per the 10-K. The same filing says Reddit is integrating Reddit Answers, its AI-powered conversational search tool, into core search and rolling it out to non-English languages.

In January 2024 Reddit signed data licensing arrangements with an aggregate contract value of $203.0 million over two to three years, according to its S-1, with at least $66.4 million to be recognized in 2024. Reuters reported on February 22, 2024 that the deal made Reddit's content available for training Google's AI models and, citing one source, that the Google contract was worth about $60 million a year.

Google's own announcement, dated February 22, 2024, a month after the January 2024 contracts, confirmed its access to Reddit's Data API, which it said delivers real-time, structured content, and named Vertex AI as the tool Reddit would use. The $60 million figure comes from Reuters alone.

The same Reuters story noted that Reddit had said in 2023 it would start charging companies for API access, and the S-1 says customers pay for data API access once they exceed certain rate limits. Against $762 million of quarterly ad revenue, the $43 million of other revenue in Q2 2026 is a drop in the bucket.

AI engines cite Reddit heavily. In our Reddit AI visibility study, Reddit ranked as a top-3 cited source for 8 of 9 social listening vendors checked on August 27, 2026. The S-1 describes the content licensing business as letting third parties search, analyze and display historical and real-time data from the platform.

The jury's still out on traffic, though. Huffman said on the July call that AI Overviews "has yet to make a similar level of positive impact" as classic search links.

Every subreddit's community page now shows weekly visitors and weekly contributions (posts and comments) to anyone, in place of the old subscribers count. Moderators get more through Mod Insights: views, unique visits and membership growth for up to 12 months. Similarweb's numbers cover reddit.com as a whole, and social listening tools analyze public posts and comments per subreddit by topic, keyword or brand.

How many posts and comments are on Reddit?

Over 2 billion posts and over 22 billion comments through December 31, 2025, per the 10-K, and 26 billion posts and comments combined by mid-2026, per Reddit's Q2 2026 earnings call.

What share of Reddit users are in the US?

40.8% of daily active uniques in Q2 2026, per Reddit. Similarweb's desktop estimate is 47.02%, and the US produces 79.3% of revenue.

How does Reddit compare with other platforms?

Pew's 26% of US adults sits below YouTube at 84% and Instagram at 50% in the same survey. Our YouTube statistics and Instagram statistics reports break those platforms down the same way.

Bottom line

Reddit's own filings are the only source for its user counts, and they come straight from the horse's mouth. 130.3 million daily and 514.6 million weekly uniques in Q2 2026, $805 million of revenue in the quarter and $2.2 billion in 2025. Every third-party number on this page measures a narrower or different unit, from desktop visits to referred page views.

The user growth sits with international and logged-out visitors, while the US produces 79.3% of revenue. That gap is the number to watch in each new quarter, along with the search referrals Huffman called choppy.
