Best conversation intelligence software in 2026: 10 tools ranked on published figures

·

How the 10 conversation intelligence platforms compare

Coverage figure is each vendor's own published language count or accuracy claim; entry price is the lowest published seat rate, or Vendr's anonymized median where no rate card exists.

Medians marked * are anonymized buyer-reported contract values published by Vendr: Gong, Clari Copilot, Chorus by ZoomInfo (ZoomInfo page; no Chorus page exists), Attention. Everything else is the vendor's own list price: Avoma, Jiminny, Fireflies.ai, Grain, Otter.ai, CallRail.

Where these figures come from

Coverage figures and accuracy claims are each vendor's own published figure, read on 11 August 2026. Medians marked as Vendr's are anonymized buyer-reported contract values from vendr.com/marketplace, used where the vendor publishes no rate card. Neither Chorus by ZoomInfo nor Attention publishes a seat price, so both rows carry a Vendr median instead.

Conversation intelligence software records a call, transcribes it, and runs models over the transcript so a manager can search what the buyer said. Gong puts its own speech-to-text at 85%-90% accuracy against 75%-80% for off-the-shelf models. Most publish no accuracy figure.

This page ranks 10 conversation intelligence platforms on numbers each vendor publishes: language counts, accuracy claims, seat prices, API rate limits & consent mechanisms. Where no rate card exists, the price column carries Vendr's anonymized buyer data.

It's for sales leaders and RevOps buyers sizing a contract for 10 to 500 sales reps, and for contact-centre teams weighing agent performance. The best conversation intelligence software for a 30-seat team is rarely what an enterprise picks.

Pricing is why you re-check now. Gong bills 2,000 credits per paid core seat annually. Avoma's add-ons take a Startup seat from $19 to $77 a month.

Logarithmic bar chart of Vendr median annual contract values across fourteen conversation intelligence vendors, from Fireflies.ai at $10,224 to Observe.AI at $389,667
Related rankings

Two sibling rankings cover overlapping vendors from a different angle: lead intelligence software ranks Gong's parent company ZoomInfo and its contact-data peers, and sales intelligence platforms ranks Gong itself alongside contact and intent tools.

How we ranked these conversation intelligence tools

Five criteria decide the shortlist, and the ranking below applies them in this order. Each returns a yes, a no, or a number.

A supported language count published on the vendor's own domain

Count the list. Gong's help centre says more than 70, and the list under it holds 72 entries. Avoma publishes 70+, 75+ and 60+, with 62 counted.

A stated transcription accuracy figure with a method behind it

A percentage without a method is marketing. Clari Copilot alone names its model, a self-hosted Whisper build averaging 89%. Nobody here publishes a word error rate.

A published seat price, a platform fee, or a Vendr median

Six of these ten publish a rate card. For the rest, Vendr's anonymized buyer data is the only checkable number. Gong confirms a platform fee and never states the amount; Avoma publishes no setup or platform fees.

A documented API rate limit and webhook support

Rate limits decide what integration work is possible. Gong publishes 3 API calls per second and 10,000 per day. Clari Copilot lists webhooks under features not supported via API.

A named two-party consent mechanism

Ask for the mechanism. Jiminny ships a default list of restricted prefixes covering Canada and named US states. CallRail's disclosure is an optional greeting the customer writes.

01

Gong

  • Voice ID takes 5 recordings per user, identifying speakers from call two
  • Dual consent email sent 10 to 20 minutes ahead, text uneditable
  • 3 native CRMs, JWT webhooks, an MCP server that spends credits

Pricing

Licences are per user plus an unpublished platform fee. Vendr's anonymized buyer data shows a $54,900 median across 593 deals, high $204,036.

Pros

  • The only accuracy band published with its baseline
  • Retention stated: three years, deletion 30 days after you leave
  • SOC 2 Type 2, ISO/IEC 27001:2022, ISO/IEC 42001:2023, HIPAA, PCI DSS

Cons

  • No seat price, seat minimum or plan price published
  • Credits don't roll over between contract years
  • Four features stay English-only, red flag alerts among them
It's fine at what it does, and it likely was the best choice for call recording a few years ago but it doesn't seem like that anymore.

Angie P., VP, Revenue, Computer Software. Capterra, 13 February 2026, rated 3.0. Source

Why it's ranked #1. Gong lists 72 languages against Clari Copilot's 28 and names 51 telephony systems. Nothing sits above it, and it concedes only pricing silence to the rate cards below.

02

Clari Copilot

Best fit: Sales organisations already forecasting in Clari that want conversation data alongside pipeline.

Copilot was Wingman until Clari acquired it on 15 June 2022. Transcription runs 85%-95% averaging 89%, Whisper named, language re-detected each 5-minute segment.

Key features

  • Live Battlecards, Playbooks, Gametapes and monologue alerts during the call
  • AI Themes analyzes up to 1,000 calls per run, needing 100 in scope
  • Ask AI Multi-Call spans 15 calls per chat, restricted to calls from January 2026
  • 14 platform and dialer values in the API CallType enum

Pricing

No rate card, no plan names, no seat minimum. Vendr's anonymized buyer data shows a $76,000 median across 175 deals, high $415,001.

Pros

  • The only accuracy claim here naming its model
  • Retention configurable from 30 days to 5 years
  • Consent page on by default, rewriting Zoom and Teams links

Cons

  • 28 languages listed against a headline of more than 20
  • Webhooks and real-time push events unsupported via API
  • Manually inviting the bot skips the consent page
Gong is way too expensive and enterprise (annual only) for basically the same core features we wanted. Plus, Wingman has a better interface.

Jon T., CEO, Marketing and Advertising, on switching from Gong.io. Capterra, 16 April 2020. Source

Why it's ranked #2. An 89% average with Whisper named beats every claim below. Gong's 72 languages against Copilot's 28 keeps it second, and missing webhooks cost it on criterion four.

03

Avoma

Best fit: Startups and mid-market teams needing a per-seat price before a demo.

Avoma is the only vendor here with a full rate card and add-on prices attached, plus 95% accuracy backed by no method. Both add-ons on Startup cost $19 plus $29 plus $29, or $77 per seat monthly.

Stacked cost bar showing Avoma at $19 per seat per month rising to $77 with the deal scoring and coaching add-ons and $96 with lead routing, billed annually

Key features

  • Bot-less native recording and bot-based recording, with a custom bot name
  • 26 integrations: 9 dialer, 8 video conferencing, 6 CRM, 3 collaboration
  • Four consent levels, Notified only to Permission required, two tier-gated
  • API capped at 60 requests per minute, webhooks from Organization up

Startup $19, Organization $29, Enterprise $39 per recorder seat monthly, billed annually. Add-ons run $29, $29 and $19. Onboarding costs $1,000.

Pros

  • No setup fee and no minimum platform fee
  • 14-day trial of Organization with every add-on on
  • Unlimited transcription minutes and storage on every tier

Cons

  • Three language counts across Avoma pages, 70+, 75+ and 60+
  • Seat minimum contradicts itself: pricing page 10, help centre 20
  • HIPAA sits behind Enterprise, and the 95% carries no method
We only have 48 active users and are paying for 87. We don't have the headcount that we did at the beginning of the year, which we let them know about, and they signed us up for another year with the same amount of people.

Jessica W., IT Specialist, Mid-Market, from a 0.0/5.0 review titled "Inflexible Contract Terms and Overpaying for Unused Services". G2, 30 September 2022. Source

Why it's ranked #3. Avoma publishes a 95% accuracy figure and a 60-requests-per-minute API ceiling; Jiminny publishes neither. It sits under Clari Copilot because that 95% arrives with no method.

04

Jiminny

  • Retention up to three years, customisable monthly
  • SOC 2 Type II under NDA, HIPAA with a BAA, EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework

Cons

  • Two language counts: 33+ on pricing, 60+ on the FAQ
  • No accuracy percentage published, only qualitative wording
  • No documented API rate limit and no public developer docs
The voice detection and transcription are shockingly good, even when dealing with thick accents or imperfect audio.

Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting, Mid-Market, 5.0/5.0. G2, 21 May 2025. Source

Why it's ranked #4. Seat prices at $83, $42 and $0 plus a named consent mechanism put Jiminny above Fireflies.ai, which documents none. Avoma's 95% figure and 60/minute API limit hold it in fourth.

05

Fireflies.ai

Best fit: Small teams wanting a working free tier and a seat under $20.

Team insights, topic trackers, sentiment analysis and question detection are all gated at Business. Storage is the ceiling: 400 minutes per team on the pricing page against 800 minutes per seat in the help centre.

  • All integrations available on the free plan, across 50+ apps
  • Rate limits documented at every tier

Cons

  • No accuracy figure published anywhere on fireflies.ai
  • 100+ languages claimed against 37 API language codes
  • No documented two-party consent mechanism
I have my settings, correct but Fireflies.ai doesn't always attend every Zoom meeting or every teams meeting. It does about 90% of the time, but there is a 10% failure rate which causes us a huge problem for me.

Stephanie Puryear Helling, Executive Coach, SPH Services. TrustRadius, 1 January 2026. Source

Why it's ranked #5. A $10 published seat and rate limits across all 4 tiers beat Chorus, which publishes neither price nor language count. Jiminny's named consent modes keep it out of fourth.

06

Chorus by ZoomInfo

Best fit: Companies already buying ZoomInfo data who want capture bundled.

Chorus has the widest meeting coverage here, 18 screen share providers, and no storage limit. What's missing is arithmetic: no accuracy percentage, only a claim of being 25% more accurate than other players.

Key features

  • Go-Links on go.chorus.ai route attendees to a consent page before they join
  • Two enforcement levels, Enforced and Enabled, controlling which meetings record
  • Same Room Speaker Separation and Voice Fingerprint for diarisation

  • No Chorus-specific API docs, webhooks or rate limits
  • No HIPAA statement on the trust center or security page

An account executive named the transcript export as what he liked best: "Meeting Transcripts that can be copy and pasted into SF notes or ChatGPT."

Cameron Wickstrum, Strategic account executive at Qualtrics. TrustRadius, 14 July 2025. Source

Why it's ranked #6. 18 screen share providers and zero storage cap beat Grain's 4 bot platforms. Fireflies.ai stays ahead on price, since Chorus publishes no seat figure at all.

07

Grain

Best fit: Small teams wanting AI notes free and coaching scorecards for $29.

Grain charges only for people who record calls; everyone else joins as a free viewer. Bot Capture supports 100+ languages, 17 at top accuracy, while Desktop Capture drops the bot at 6 languages.

  • Free meetings cap at 45 minutes, uploads at 2 hours

A head of sales who moved off a larger tool wrote: "Their snippets, talk tracks, and call searching is very easy compared to Gong and other."

John J., Head of Sales, Mid-Market, 5/5. G2, 11 November 2024. Source

Why it's ranked #7. Published seats at $15 and $29 plus a 300-per-minute API limit beat Attention, which publishes no price and no numeric ceiling. Chorus stays above on capture breadth, 18 against 4.

08

Attention

Best fit: Buyers wanting CRM fields filled automatically who accept a quote-only process.

Attention claims over 90% accuracy across 100+ languages, the only method given being models optimized for sales conversations. Its consent page names 14 two-party consent states, then says 13 states have an all-party policy.

Key features

  • Recording and listener seats, with three roles: Sales Rep, Manager, Admin
  • AI Coaching Scorecards graded against BANT, MEDDIC and other frameworks
  • CRM Auto-Update writing AI-filled fields into Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics
  • OAuth 2.1 with Dynamic Client Registration, scopes mcp:read and mcp:write

Pricing

  • A BAA is maintained for regulated customers

  • No free plan and no free trial mentioned on the site
  • No PII redaction, retention control or GDPR statement published
Sometimes it doesn’t capture the names of people and companies very well, and it can take a long time for the recording to come through.

Elad F., Senior Account Executive, Mid-Market, 4/5. G2, 13 March 2026. Source

Why it's ranked #8. Over 90% accuracy across 100+ languages beats Otter.ai's 6 languages and its silence on accuracy. Grain's published $15 seat holds Attention down against a $62,610 median.

09

Otter.ai

Best fit: English-speaking teams capturing internal notes with no CRM writeback.

Otter has the cheapest paid seat here at $8.33 per user monthly and the narrowest coverage, six languages, Portuguese explicitly excluded. The free tier runs 300 monthly minutes and 3 lifetime imports.

Key features

  • Bot-free capture through the desktop app and a Chrome extension for Google Meet
  • Otter AI Chat on all tiers, capped at 20, 50, 200 and 200 queries monthly

Pricing

Basic free. Pro $8.33 per user monthly billed annually, $16.99 monthly. Business $19.99 annually, $30 monthly. SSO and SCIM each need a 100-user licence. Vendr records a $23,072 median.

  • API and webhooks are Enterprise-only, with no published limits
  • Synced CRM notes cover 1 user on Pro, 5 on Business
First, Otter.ai began sending out invites to anyone in my organization without my permission, approval or knowledge. The next thing I know, I'm being billed for two people I do not even know.

Deral Carson, Strategic Planner at FamilyLife, from a 3/10 review titled "Great Product, lousy Customer Service". TrustRadius, 16 October 2023. Source

Why it's ranked #9. An $8.33 seat and 300 free monthly minutes beat CallRail, which publishes three conflicting entry prices and no free plan. Attention's 100+ languages against Otter's 6 settle the place above.

10

CallRail

Best fit: Marketing teams attributing inbound phone calls to campaigns in four countries.

CallRail runs on tracking numbers. It skips meeting bots, with 5 numbers and 250 minutes on every plan and retention fixed at 25 months. Pricing is the weak point: cards read 50, 95, 150 and 195 monthly, the homepage says $55.

Key features

  • Premium Conversation Intelligence gating summaries and sentiment to the top tiers
  • Seven sentiment values, from Mostly positive through Neutral to Mostly negative
  • Lead scoring in five bands: good, Good, Fair, Poor, Poor
  • API limits in three classes: 1,000 general requests per hour, 10,000 per day

Pricing

Four tiers at 50, 95, 150 and 195 monthly plus usage, with a 14-day trial and no free plan. Overages: local numbers $3, toll-free $5, transcription minutes $0.025.

Pros

  • Unlimited users and companies per account at no cost
  • ISO 42001 certified for AI management systems, plus SOC 2 Type II
  • Documented API rate limits and a 25-month retention period

Cons

  • No accuracy figure; accuracy depends on call quality
  • The repeated 95% figure measures PII redaction. It doesn't measure transcription accuracy
  • No automatic disclosure, and annual plans are nonrefundable
CallRail was simplistic, cost effective, and had many perks that other smaller platforms did not do as well at (think phone trees/IVR customization, marketing number pools, high level reporting)

Sean M., Director of Admissions, Hospital & Health Care, 5/5, having switched from Invoca. Capterra, 13 November 2025. Source

Why it's ranked #10. 17 languages and documented limits of 1,000 requests per hour keep CallRail on the list. Otter.ai's single published $8.33 seat beats three conflicting entry prices.

What conversation intelligence software does with customer interactions

The software records customer interactions across video meetings and phone calls. Tools that transcribe conversations turn audio into searchable conversation data, and Gong splits one audio channel per speaker.

Salesloft's Conversation Key Moment agent surfaces competitor mentions across multiple calls, giving sales teams conversation insights. Software that analyzes sales calls turns customer data into actionable data.

Summaries and action items are the output most reps see. Avoma ships AI Email Follow-ups and unlimited AI Summary Notes on its $19 Startup tier, with note regeneration capped at 2 times per meeting, and Gong's AI Composer drafts the reply.

Chorus pushes the same material as a daily Meeting Brief, sent between 7:00 and 8:00 AM EST.

The category runs wider than these ten. Fathom sells meeting summaries and action items, Agentforce Sales sits inside Salesforce CRM workflows, and Substrata reads emotional signals in a conversation. This ranking scores published language counts, accuracy figures and rate limits.

How conversation intelligence software works, from capture to key moments

Capture, transcription, analysis, sync. Real-time transcription converts unstructured audio into searchable text, Chorus breaking it into utterances usually 5-15 seconds long. Analysis extracts key moments, and Avoma's 2-way CRM field updates change a deal stage with no rep touching it.

Conversation intelligence versus basic call recording on sales calls

Basic call recording gives you a file; conversation intelligence gives you a query over sales calls. Gong's machine learning identifies topics independent of specific keywords, and trackers let you track specific keywords on top. Balto scans 100% of conversations against Observe.AI's baseline of QA on 2%.

Conversation intelligence analyzes what was said. An archive stores audio and call data.

Natural language processing, sentiment analysis and what the models output

Natural language processing sits under every tool here, and Invoca trained its models on nearly 1 million hours of supervised audio. Sentiment analysis measures customer sentiment during a call: CallRail returns seven discrete values, Grain flags any section scoring 1 or 2 out of 5.

Bot-joins-the-call capture versus native recording

Two capture models exist in the virtual world of Zoom, Teams and Meet, and the difference shows in the participant list. Gong adds a virtual participant across all 11 conferencing integrations and records natively on Zoom only. Grain's Desktop Capture drops the bot at 6 languages against Bot Capture's 100+.

Bar chart of supported language counts for ten conversation intelligence vendors, showing the count in each vendor list against its marketing claim, from Otter.ai at six to Attention at 100+

Transcription accuracy claims and the methods behind them

Four of these ten publish a percentage: Gong 85%-90%, Clari Copilot 89%, Avoma 95%, Attention over 90%. None publishes a word error rate or test set. Chorus offers a relative figure only, and CallRail's 95% belongs to data redaction.

Consent, two-party recording law, retention and certifications

Consent mechanisms differ far more than certification lists do. Gong sends a pre-call email 10 to 20 minutes ahead and supports opt-out-and-stay on 8 of 11 providers. Jiminny treats two-party consent as a dialling rule with restricted prefixes.

Retention is where contracts bite. Gong holds data three years & deletes it 30 days after you leave. Copilot admins set 30 days to 5 years. CallRail fixes 25 months and won't extend. HIPAA is Enterprise-gated at Avoma, Fireflies and Otter.

Compliance monitoring and redaction on live calls

Flagging a regulatory problem mid-call is a contact-centre capability. Balto routes legal issues and compliance alerts into a single inbox and scrubs social security numbers in real time for PCI and HIPAA. Observe.AI publishes a 97% improvement in compliance monitoring.

On the sales-side tools, redaction is an add-on or a request. Invoca redacts credit card, social security and date-of-birth data under its Signal AI add-on, and Gong's PHI redaction runs on English calls only, switched on by Gong alone.

What conversation intelligence platforms cost: seats, add-ons and platform fees

Published seats run from $8.33 to $83 a month: Otter Pro at the bottom, Grain Starter at $15, Avoma Startup at $19, Jiminny recording seats at $83. Gong confirms a platform fee based on user count, never publishes the amount, and meters consumption in credits.

CRM and dialer integrations and their tier gates

Every tool connects to Salesforce and HubSpot; the gates differ. Gong supports 3 CRMs natively, Grain requires Business for both, Otter caps synced notes at 1 user on Pro. Automatic CRM logging cuts manual data entry & manual note-taking, lifting team productivity.

API and webhook access

Published rate limits: Gong 3 per second and 10,000 per day, Clari Copilot 10 per second and 100,000 per week, Grain 300 per minute, Avoma 60 per minute, CallRail 1,000 per hour. Jiminny, Otter and Chorus publish nothing.

Free plans and what they exclude

Three tools run a free tier. Fireflies gives unlimited transcription with 20 AI credits, Grain unlimited meetings capped at 45 minutes, Otter 300 monthly minutes and 3 lifetime imports. Grain's exclusions remove most of what makes these conversation tools useful past note capture.

Revenue intelligence, coaching insights and objection handling in customer conversations

Deal scoring is now a named agent. Gong's AI Deal Predictor assigns a numeric score for deal health, and Chorus runs a patented Deal Recommendation Engine to surface deal risks.

Sales coaching moves from anecdote to data-driven insights. Salesloft's AI Scorecard agent pre-populates scorecards with rep performance assessments, so sales managers coach reps on shared evidence. Avoma's add-on carries MEDDICC scorecards and a real-time answer assistant for objection handling.

Clari's AI Themes analyzes up to 1,000 calls in one run, surfacing pain points across real conversations. AI-driven insights at that volume beat sampling twenty calls a quarter.

Recurring themes, product feedback and deal review

Complaints repeat, and trackers count them. Salesloft's Tracker Trends shows patterns like competitor mentions or price sensitivity across multiple conversations, which is product feedback for whoever owns the roadmap.

Deal review is the other read on the same transcripts. Avoma's Revenue Intelligence add-on carries a Dealboard for pipeline review at $29 a seat, and Clari's Ask AI Multi-Call works across up to 15 calls in a single chat.

Opportunity spotting sits earlier. Avoma's Lead Router qualifies and routes leads in real time and hands SDR calls to an AE on rules read from CRM fields, at $19 a seat annually.

Common buying mistakes

Buying on a stale rate card tops the list. Wingman's $60, $90 and $110 per-rep card still circulates in caches, yet trywingman.com no longer resolves and Clari's own terms still point their sub-processor list at that dead domain.

Repeating a vendor number without checking what it measures comes second. Avoma's Vendr body prose names tiers that don't exist, and Avoma's own competitor table still contains placeholder Lorem Ipsum text.

Third: assuming conversation intelligence is included. Fireflies gates trackers at Business; Otter presents the whole capability as Enterprise. Vendors promise valuable insights, and the entry tier ships a transcript.

Fourth: buying on outcome claims. Salesloft reports customers prospecting 322% more pipeline and winning 28% more deals in year one, footnoted as customer-reported. Read those as sales performance at named accounts. They aren't forecastable revenue growth figures.

Fifth: sizing the purchase against a category market-size projection. Those decade-out forecasts price nothing on your invoice; the seat, the add-on and the platform fee do.

Conversation intelligence FAQ

What is conversation intelligence software?

Software that records calls, transcribes them and analyzes the transcript to surface insights a manager can search. It turns unstructured communication into actionable insights, writes AI-generated call summaries into the CRM, and builds a deeper understanding of stalled deals.

What is a conversational intelligence tool?

The same thing under a different spelling. Conversational intelligence tools and conversation intelligence tools name one category. Conversation analytics and conversational analytics describe the reporting layer over the transcripts.

How does conversation intelligence work?

A bot joins the meeting or the platform records natively, speech-to-text produces a transcript with speaker labels, then models run topic detection and scoring across past meetings. Results sync to the CRM.

Which AI is best for analyzing conversations?

For enterprise sales conversations, Gong on 72 languages and 85%-90% stated accuracy. For a published price, Avoma at $19 per seat monthly. For contact-centre operational efficiency, Observe.AI and Balto sell real-time coaching instead.

Can conversation intelligence integrate with my CRM?

Yes, and check the tier gate first. Gong connects to one CRM at a time across Salesforce, HubSpot and Dynamics. Grain needs Business for either. Attention writes AI-filled fields into Salesforce, HubSpot and Snowflake.

What are the top conversational AI platforms for customer sentiment?

Contact-centre buyers chasing customer experience and customer success outcomes should look past this sales-first list. Observe.AI publishes Agent Assist results of 23% lower AHT and 13% higher revenue.

Bottom line
