The same 1,000 daily keywords cost 4.3 times as much on Semrush ($299) as on SerpRobot ($69.86).

Switching Keyword.com from weekly to daily updates multiplies the bill for 1,000 keywords by four, from $33 to $131.

One local SEO keyword scanned daily on a 7x7 Local Falcon grid uses 1,470 credits a month, about $4.90 at the Starter rate, 76 times SE Ranking's $0.0645 per tracked keyword.

Tracking 1,000 keyword rankings every day costs $69.86 a month on SerpRobot and $299 on Semrush, read from both vendors' own pricing pages on 4 October 2026. That's a 4.3x spread for the same job. Swap daily updates for weekly ones and Keyword.com's bill for 1,000 keywords drops from $131 to $33.

This report prices 16 paid rank tracking products on one scenario: 1,000 tracked keywords, one location, one device, refreshed daily, on monthly billing. Every rate comes straight from the horse's mouth, each vendor's pricing page or help center, read on 4 October 2026. It covers dedicated rank tracker software, the trackers inside each SEO tool suite, local rank tracking on geo-grids, SERP APIs, desktop software and the free Google Search Console.

It's written for freelancers, in-house teams and agencies picking a rank tracking tool, and for anyone renewing one. This site earns affiliate commission from DataForSEO and Positive Surfer; both are priced below on the same terms as everyone else.

How rank tracker pricing works

Five billing models share the category, and each meters a different unit. Subscriptions sell a fixed count of tracked keywords. SEO suites bundle a tracking cap into a wider plan. Credit systems charge per check or per map pin. SERP APIs bill each results page that search engines return, and desktop software sells a yearly license.

The tracked keyword is the unit that matters, and vendors define it differently. Pro Rank Tracker counts "1 keyword tracked for 1 URL on 1 search engine", and its plans page says different locations and devices count as separate terms. Ahrefs multiplies keywords by locations by projects, so 3 keywords in 2 cities use 6.

Frequency is the second multiplier. Advanced Web Ranking defines its keyword unit as one weekly query for one search engine and one device, so a keyword checked daily burns 7 units. Track a list of 1,000 target keywords on desktop & mobile in multiple locations, say two cities, and most keyword rank tracking software bills 4,000 keywords before anyone picks a frequency.

The devil's in the details. Across the subscription plans, per-keyword cost runs from $0.0199 for a weekly AWR keyword to $0.278 for a daily keyword on Semrush's SEO plan, 14 times as much. Every figure below divides the published monthly price by keywords at the stated frequency.

What 1,000 keywords tracked daily cost on dedicated rank trackers

Eight dedicated rank tracker software vendors publish a plan that covers daily rank tracking at this volume. Prices are monthly billing, read 4 October 2026. The bar chart converts euro prices at the European Central Bank reference rate of 1.1225 for 2 October 2026.

All prices are vendor list prices. Nightwatch's monthly figure is computed from its page: the €1,908 annual price plus the €480 the page says annual billing saves, divided by 12. Per-keyword cost uses 1,000 keywords even where the plan includes more.

* Wincher and Nightwatch list prices in euros, quoted here as published. At the European Central Bank reference rate of 1 EUR = 1.1225 USD, published 2 October 2026 and refreshed weekly, EUR 89 is about $99.90, EUR 199 is about $223, EUR 49 is about $55.00, EUR 319 is about $358, EUR 79 is about $88.68, EUR 159 is about $178, EUR 399 is about $448 and EUR 10 is about $11.23.

Horizontal bar chart of the monthly cost of tracking 1,000 keywords daily on monthly billing: SerpRobot $69.86, Ranktracker $89, Pro Rank Tracker $99, Wincher $99.90, SE Ranking $129, Keyword.com $131, Advanced Web Ranking $139, DataForSEO $180 at top-100 depth, Nightwatch $223.38, AccuRanker $224, Semrush $299
The cheapest and dearest published routes to 1,000 daily keywords sit 4.3x apart.

SerpRobot

SerpRobot sells capacity in bots: each paid bot costs $4.99 a month and updates 75 keyword positions every 24 hours. Fourteen bots cover 1,050 daily keywords for $69.86, the lowest published price for daily rank tracking in this scenario. The free plan runs 14 days at $0. It's a rank checker tool with one number on the box & a short feature list.

Ranktracker

Ranktracker starts at $39 a month for 500 keyword rankings updated daily in the top 100, and charges $89 for 1,000. Every plan includes unlimited users, and annual billing cuts 20%. The 7-day free trial converts to a subscription that renews on its own, a red flag one reviewer raises in the hidden-costs section below.

Pro Rank Tracker

Pro Rank Tracker's Starter plan is $99 for 1,000 terms with top-100 daily updates, local & mobile rankings and Google Business Profile Maps tracking for local SEO. The Pro plan adds 10 users and Data Studio integration at $149 for 2,000 terms. Its own definition makes a term one keyword, one URL, one search engine, so tracking desktop plus mobile doubles the count.

Wincher

Wincher charges €49* a month for 500 keywords on Basic, €89* for 1,000 on Standard and €319* for 5,000 on Professional. Basic refreshes keyword rankings daily, caps you at one user and 10 websites, and leaves out on-demand updates. Competitor tracking scales from 5 to 20 competitors per website, and every tier lists customizable reports, AI keyword suggestions and overviews of landing pages.

White-labeled reports, Google Looker Studio & API access start on Standard. That's where most agencies land, because client-branded customizable reports are part of the job.

Keyword.com

Keyword.com shows both frequency prices side by side. Its Search Visibility plan costs $4 a month for 50 keywords on weekly updates ($3 billed annually) and $16 on daily. The 360° Visibility plan, which adds AI search to Google for wider online visibility, runs $33 for 1,000 keywords weekly and $131 daily. The pricing page lets you set location "from country to ZIP code" for local accuracy, which puts ZIP code level tracking for local search on the same bill.

Advanced Web Ranking

Advanced Web Ranking's keyword-unit pricing gives weekly tracking rankings the lowest per-keyword rate among the subscription trackers here, $0.0199. Pro costs $139 for 7,000 units, which is 7,000 keywords weekly or 1,000 daily. Every plan carries unlimited users, unlimited projects and 4,000+ various search engines. Agency at $279 for 14,500 units adds 1-hour on-demand updates and API access, and the Ent Plus tier tops out at $980 for 50,000 units.

Nightwatch

Nightwatch lists Starter at €79* a month billed annually for 500 daily keywords, Professional at €159* for 2,500 and Agency at €399* for 7,500. All plans include unlimited team seats, a 14-day free trial with no card, and keyword rankings tracked daily on the major search engines: Google, YouTube, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo and Google Maps. Competitor tracking runs from 5 to 15 competitors per site, and white-label reports and API access start at Professional.

AccuRanker

AccuRanker starts at 2,000 keywords, so a 1,000-keyword buyer pays $224 for capacity they won't use, a bitter pill to swallow for small sites.

Every plan refreshes keyword rankings daily, and Professional bundles keyword research plus Google Search Console & Google Analytics connections. Expert costs $764 for 10,000 keywords, or $0.0764 each, and its advanced features add Google Data Studio, AI search volume and an unlimited read API. Above 25,000 keywords the price is on request, and that Enterprise tier adds what AccuRanker calls "enhanced speed", plus BigQuery and raw SERP HTML.

"The price could be more affordable, but you get what you pay for."

Rank tracking inside SEO suites

Suites price rank tracking as one line inside a bigger plan. Keyword research, keyword difficulty, competitor analysis, backlink analysis and site audits come with the tracker, and the plan price covers all of them. Four SEO tools publish their tracking limits, and each one ties keyword positions to wider SEO performance reports. Ahrefs, Semrush, SE Ranking and Surfer also appear in the competitive intelligence SEO tools ranking.

SuitePlan that covers 1,000 keywordsTracked keywordsUpdate frequencyMonthly price

SE RankingCore2,000Daily$129
AhrefsStandard2,000Weekly$249
Positive SurferRank Tracker add-on1,000Daily$85 plus a Surfer plan

All four prices are vendor list prices on monthly billing, read 4 October 2026.

Semrush Position Tracking

Semrush's rank tracking module is Position Tracking. The SEO plan costs $139 a month for 500 daily keywords, $0.278 each, with basic keyword research and competitor analysis. Pro+ at $299 tracks 1,500 and is the first tier with tracking across multiple locations and devices, plus historical data. Advanced at $549 tracks 5,000 and adds share of voice, a search visibility metric scored against competitor visibility. The full ladder is in the Semrush pricing report.

Extra users start at $45 a month. Semrush also sells a Base Report add-on at $10 a month that pulls Google Analytics & Google Search Console data into scheduled reports, and a white-label Pro Report at $20.

SE Ranking

SE Ranking's Core plan is $129 for 2,000 keyword rankings checked daily across 10 projects with one manager seat, or $103.20 a month billed annually after a 20% discount. Growth is $279 for 5,000. A 14-day free trial applies to both. Its rank tracker page lists the top 100 search results on three search engines, Google, Bing and YouTube, on desktop & mobile.

Add-ons push the price up fast, which is par for the course in SEO suites. AI Search tracking is $71.20 a month on annual billing, the API $45, the Agency Pack $69, and extra manager seats start at $16.

"I also feel the pricing could be more flexible for users who only need a few core features."

G2 review of SE Ranking, Harshit V., Digital Marketing Executive, 25 September 2026, via G2.

Ahrefs Rank Tracker

Ahrefs' ranking tool sits inside the same SEO tool suite as Site Explorer and Site Audit. Ahrefs tracks 750 keywords on Lite at $129, 2,000 on Standard at $249, 5,000 on Advanced at $449 and from 10,000 on Enterprise at $1,499 with an annual commitment. Every plan updates keyword rankings weekly by default. Extra users cost $40 to $100 a month each. At $0.172 per weekly keyword on Lite, Ahrefs is the dearest weekly tracker in this report.

Positive Surfer Rank Tracker

Surfer sells rank tracking as an add-on billed monthly from $8.50 for every 100 keywords, refreshed daily to track keyword rankings, which puts 1,000 keywords at $85 or less after volume discounts. It runs on top of a Surfer subscription, and Surfer's published plans start at $59 a month. Its help center describes the targeting as country-wide, for all countries.

The Positive Surfer review covers the rest of the plan, and Positive Surfer vs Semrush puts the two side by side.

Daily vs weekly rank tracking: what the frequency switch costs

Daily updates are the published default on 9 of the 16 paid products priced here. Ahrefs updates weekly, Keyword.com shows weekly prices first, AWR meters both, Local Falcon and DataForSEO bill per scan or call, and SEO PowerSuite checks when your computer runs it. Where a vendor prices both frequencies, daily keyword tracking costs about four times weekly.

Paired price panels for Keyword.com on monthly billing: 50 keywords cost $4 weekly and $16 daily, 500 keywords $22 and $88, 1,000 keywords $33 and $131, 10,000 keywords $260 and $949; a lower panel notes that Advanced Web Ranking charges 7 keyword units for each daily keyword, so its $139 Pro plan covers 7,000 weekly or 1,000 daily keywords
Keyword.com charges 3.65 to 4 times more for daily updates at every published volume.

Keyword.com's own toggles show the multiplier at four volumes: $22 weekly against $88 daily for 500 keywords, and $260 against $949 for 10,000. The ratio is 4.0 at 50 and 500 keywords, 3.97 at 1,000 and 3.65 at 10,000.

AWR's 7x unit rule means the same $139 Pro plan buys 7,000 weekly keywords or 1,000 daily ones.

Weekly ranking data covers monthly keyword performance reports to clients, so paying daily rates for them is barking up the wrong tree. Daily data earns its cost during migrations, Google core updates and launches, when ranking changes on specific keywords need a date attached and SEO strategies get tested against them.

A common split tracks the valuable keywords daily, the high search volume terms that drive targeted traffic, and checks the long tail weekly, on tools that set frequency per project.

Local rank tracking and local search grid pricing

Geo-grid tracking bills a different unit. A local rank tracker checks how a business ranks in local search for local keywords at many points on a map, and every point costs money. That's why local rank tracking runs at dollars per keyword, and why local SEO budgets get modelled on their own. National keyword tracking in this report runs at 7 to 28 cents per keyword.

Search results on a map move with the searcher. Google's Business Profile help says local results are "mainly based on relevance, distance, and popularity", and distance is measured from the person searching. A single ranking position per city hides that spread, so local SEO tools sample a grid to measure the local search visibility of a business.

Local Falcon

Local Falcon is a local rank tracker built for local SEO geo-grids, and it sells credits: Starter is $24.99 a month for 7,500, Basic $49.99 for 15,150, Pro $99.99 for 31,250 and Premium $199.99 for 63,150. One credit is one map pin on the geo-grid ranking tool, and each pin returns a ranking position, so a 7x7 scan of a Google Business Profile costs 49 credits and a 13x13 scan costs 169.

The Starter allowance buys 153 scans a month at 7x7, or 44 at 13x13. Track one keyword on a 7x7 grid daily and Local Falcon uses 1,470 credits, about $4.90 a month at the Starter rate. Four weekly scans use 196 credits, about $0.65, which makes weekly the sensible default for most local keywords, with daily scans kept for a few specific keywords.

Local Falcon's monthly credits expire at the end of each month, annual credits at the end of the year, and pay-as-you-go credits cost $0.05 each and never expire. At that rate the daily 7x7 keyword costs $73.50. New accounts get 100 free credits. For local search work on Local Falcon, the bill scales with locations x local keywords x grid size, and grid size drives the lion's share of it.

BrightLocal

BrightLocal's local rank tracker prices per location, which suits local SEO agencies. Track costs $41 a month for one location, Manage $54 and Grow $65, each covering up to 100 local keywords and four competitors, with BrightLocal's Local Search Grid included for up to five keywords. Prices step up at 2 to 5 and 6 to 10 locations, and above 250 locations the price is on request. Every plan carries a 14-day free trial with no card.

For multi location businesses, BrightLocal's per-location pricing keeps local business rankings & citations on one bill. Its Citation Builder runs pay-as-you-go from $2 a citation, a drop in the bucket next to the monthly plan.

Other trackers bolt local SEO onto national plans. Wincher's Google Maps local rank tracker updates local keywords weekly with 25 credits included and extra credits at €10* per 500. Pro Rank Tracker includes Google Business Profile Maps tracking from Starter. For agencies with multi location clients, the local bill is the line to model first, because local markets multiply tracked keywords by every city and specific locations inside it.

Rank tracker APIs and desktop software

DataForSEO SERP API

DataForSEO charges $0.0006 per SERP on the Standard queue, $0.0012 on Priority and $0.002 in Live mode, with a $50 minimum deposit and $1 of free credit on signup. Its API documentation bills "per each SERP containing up to 10 results", so a top-100 check costs 10 SERPs.

For 1,000 keywords checked daily for 30 days, that's $18 a month at top-10 depth and $180 at top-100 depth on the Standard queue. The SERP data arrives raw, so a team tracking rankings through an API builds the tracker from scratch, paying separately to store that ranking data, chart it and alert on it. Scraper APIs that bill per page are priced in the web scraping pricing report, and the full rate card is in the DataForSEO pricing report and the DataForSEO review.

SEO PowerSuite Rank Tracker

SEO PowerSuite sells Rank Tracker as desktop keyword rank tracking software: Professional is $179 a year and Enterprise $419, with unlimited keyword tracking, about $14.92 a month on Professional. The checks run from your own computer. The free edition tracks keywords but can't save projects or schedule tasks.

"THe cost of the yearly updayes for SEO Powersuite to stay up to date with the Google algorithmn changes was prohibitive for us. AccuRanker was the best value for tracking for us."

Capterra review of AccuRanker, Glenn R., Online Local Marketing Consultant, 22 February 2023, via Capterra.

Hidden costs in rank tracker software plans

The headline price covers one user, one location and the vendor's default frequency. Five lines change the real bill for any rank tracking tool:

  • Seats: Ahrefs charges $40 to $100 a month per extra user and Semrush from $45. AWR, Nightwatch, Ranktracker and Keyword.com include unlimited users.

  • Locations, devices & search engines: Pro Rank Tracker counts each location, device and search engine as another term, and Ahrefs counts each location, so a five-city local SEO list costs five times the national one.

  • Reporting: AccuRanker gates Google Data Studio to its $764 Expert plan, Wincher gates white-label reports to Standard, and Semrush sells white-label Pro Report at $20 a month.

  • History: Semrush adds historical data at Pro+, and Wincher's position history import, which carries older ranking changes over from a previous tool, starts on Standard.

  • Minimums: AccuRanker and SE Ranking both start at 2,000 keywords, so small lists overpay per keyword.

Renewals catch annual buyers. Ranktracker, SE Ranking, Semrush and Ahrefs all discount annual billing by 17% to 20%, and the discount comes with a renewal date that rolls on its own, so the charge can land out of the blue.

"it's unfair to automatically renew subscriptions annually without sending any warning emails or giving chances to change the subscription or payment method. It's frustrating that they refuse refunds on the day the subscription is paid for, especially for long-time users."

G2 review of Ranktracker, Cathy M., Founder, 18 December 2025, via G2.

Mid-tier tools draw price complaints too. One AccuRanker reviewer on Capterra, Bruno P., a retail business owner, wrote on 13 December 2022 that "It is a little pricey and there are some issues viewing it on mobile".

Free rank tracking with Google Search Console

Google Search Console costs $0 and reports average position for every query a site appears for. Google's documentation defines that position as "the topmost position occupied by a link to your property or page in search results, averaged across all queries". The Performance report shows the past three months by default.

Search Console's ranking data shows keyword rankings where a site already appears in organic search, on Google alone among search engines. Competitor data, website rankings for a fixed city and keywords the site doesn't rank for yet sit outside it, and that's the gap paid rank tracking software fills. Paired with Google Analytics, it gives most small sites keyword performance and organic search traffic for $0.

Beggars can't be choosers on free tiers. SerpRobot's 14-day free plan, Pro Rank Tracker's 7-day trial on 100 terms, Local Falcon's 100 free credits and SEO PowerSuite's unsaved free edition all cover tracking rankings at zero cost for a while.

What to budget for rank tracking

Budget a rank tracking tool by keyword count & frequency first, then add seats & locations. Three common profiles, priced from the tables above:

A freelancer tracking keyword rankings for 500 target keywords daily pays $34.93 on SerpRobot (seven bots), $39 on Ranktracker, €49* on Wincher or $139 on Semrush's SEO plan. Pick the suite only if its keyword research & site audit replace an SEO tool you'd otherwise buy, which kills two birds with one stone.

An agency with 5,000 keywords across clients pays $279 on SE Ranking Growth, $299 on Ranktracker Authority, €319* on Wincher Professional or $549 on Semrush Advanced. Add Local Falcon geo-grid scans for local SEO clients and seats where the plan charges for them.

Enterprise teams hit quote-only pricing. AccuRanker quotes above 25,000 keywords, Nightwatch's Enterprise tier starts at 20,000+ keywords on custom terms, and Wincher asks for contact above 50,000. AWR publishes $980 for 50,000 weekly units, and a SERP API at $0.0006 a check is worth keeping an eye on at that scale.

Use the SEO ROI calculator to set that budget against the traffic your SEO efforts drive and the SEO performance you report, and the SEO visibility score report for how trackers turn website rankings into one search visibility number.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best rank tracker?

Among hosted trackers, the best rank tracker software on price per daily keyword is SerpRobot at $69.86 for 1,000, followed by Ranktracker at $89. For agencies with many seats, AWR and Nightwatch include unlimited users. For local SEO, Local Falcon's geo-grid credits price each map pin.

How much do SEO tools cost?

Published SEO tool plans run from $29 a month for Ahrefs Starter to $549 for Semrush Advanced and $1,499 for Ahrefs Enterprise. Dedicated rank trackers start at $4 a month for 50 weekly keywords on Keyword.com and $4.99 for one SerpRobot bot.

Can I pay Google to rank higher?

Paying Google buys ad placement through Google Ads. For organic results, Google states that Search "does not provide special treatment such as ranking boosts or specialized support based on personal or financial relationships, including advertising".

What is the best free SEO rank tracker tool?

Google Search Console is free with no expiry and reports average position per query. To track keyword rankings a site doesn't hold yet, SEO PowerSuite's free Rank Tracker edition runs checks without saving projects.

What is a rank tracker used for?

A rank tracker, or rank tracking tool, records keyword rankings for a site's pages in Google search results and other search engines, by location and device, on a schedule. Teams use the history to check if work meant to improve search engine visibility moved positions, to see which SEO strategies paid off, and to analyze competitors' positions.

What is the best rank tracker tool?

Volume decides it. Under 1,000 daily keywords, SerpRobot and Ranktracker are the cheapest hosted options. From 5,000 keywords, rank tracking on SE Ranking Growth at $0.0558 per keyword and Wincher Professional at €0.0638 undercut Semrush Advanced at $0.110. For local keywords, Local Falcon's $24.99 Starter covers 153 scans at 7x7.

How much does it cost to be a top Google search?

For ads, the price is an auction. In Google Ads, Ad Rank combines your bid with ad and landing page quality, and you pay per click, often less than your maximum bid.

Bottom line

Rank tracker price tags compare badly until they're divided by keyword rankings checked at one frequency. On that basis, 1,000 daily keywords run from $69.86 to $299 a month, and the same vendor charges four times more for daily data than weekly.

Set the frequency & the location count first, then pick the rank tracker tool. A weekly national list belongs on AWR or Keyword.com, a daily list on SerpRobot, Ranktracker or SE Ranking, and a list of local keywords on Local Falcon's credits with the grid kept small. Daily rank tracking on every keyword is the setting that quadruples the bill.
