Pairs well with Lead Forensics

Lead Forensics is a website visitor identification tool from Portsmouth that turns anonymous website traffic into a list of companies visiting your site, with decision-maker contacts attached. It sells lead generation software to sales and marketing teams that already have traffic and need a reason to call, and its customers manage those leads inside the platform or their CRM.

Its homepage puts the gap at "98% of your traffic never converts," roughly 98 in every 100 website visitors leaving without submitting their contact details, the gap every visitor intelligence vendor sells against.

This Lead Forensics review covers how the identification works, what the two plans gate, what users say about contracts and renewals, how the support model holds up, and where four alternatives win. The short answer: strong support and reporting, a hidden rate card, and renewal terms worth reading twice. Every figure links to the page it came from, and every user quote links to the review site that carries it.

It's written for sales and marketing leaders about to book the demo. It matters now because three G2 and Trustpilot reviews from July to September 2026 describe auto-renewal and a 10% increase, and the vendor's own pages give two different trial lengths. Lead Forensics pricing sits behind that call, and the companion Lead Forensics pricing report goes deeper on what buyers pay.

↑ FACT SHEETWhat Lead Forensics does with anonymous website traffic

Its core job is visitor identification for website visitors who never fill in a form and fly under the radar of analytics. A tracking script logs each visit, Lead Forensics identifies the business behind it, and the platform shows the company name, firmographics and the pages viewed. Behind that sits a software platform with nine features at the base tier, per the pricing page.

The list: visitor identification, full firmographic insight, decision maker contact data, behavioral insights, real-time visitor alerts, a lead and pipeline manager, unlimited user access, a dedicated customer success manager, and a training academy with certifications.

Alerts carry most of the day-to-day value. The features page describes three triggers: a hot lead on the site, a stalled deal back in market because the prospect is browsing again, and a lapsed customer returning. Each one is a high intent signal a sales rep can act on while the visit is fresh, which turns anonymous website visitors into quality leads for outbound and lead generation.

Lead Forensics also ranks activity: the same page says reps can see "which visitors are most engaged" to prioritise the warmest leads.

Marketing teams get insight into how visitors found the site, which marketing campaigns and content bring in high-value opportunities, and campaign ROI, so marketing spend can move toward the channels that bring identified companies in.

That gives marketing activities a pipeline number for more leads and closed deals, and it's the feature reviewers praise by name. A Gartner Peer Insights reviewer calls the output "Highly customisable reports that allow us to surface insights for both our sales and marketing teams."

A Trustpilot reviewer, July 2026, describes the same benefit in fewer words: "valuable insight into the companies visiting our website."

↑ FACT SHEETHow Lead Forensics identifies anonymous website visitors

Lead Forensics identifies companies through their IP addresses. Its own Lead Magic comparison page states that "identification works best when visitors are browsing from a business network." A visitor on a home connection resolves to an internet provider, and remote workers drop out of the leads. The match rate depends on how much of your traffic sits on corporate networks.

That makes it company-level website visitor identification. The contacts Lead Forensics surfaces are decision makers at the visiting company, pulled from its contact data, and the person who clicked stays anonymous: the anonymous traffic resolves to a business, never to a name.

Read between the lines of any match-rate claim: a sales team selling to office-based buyers will see more leads today than one whose prospects browse from home, and the industry you sell into shapes how many companies it can identify.

Data accuracy draws the most mixed comments, and the split runs by industry. A Capterra UK reviewer in real estate, April 2026, writes: "Sometimes it gets its wires crossed and displays the wrong company name." A Capterra UK reviewer in education management, September 2026, adds: "Occasionally the contacts provided within LF are not accurate or fully up to date."

Other customers report the opposite experience. A Capterra UK reviewer in hospital and health care, September 2026, says "the detailed contact information provided is consistently accurate," and a Trustpilot reviewer from July 2026 credits "the power and accuracy of the data it throws up." The trial is the place to keep an eye on match quality: time spent checking 20 known customers against the leads list will show how well it can identify your audience.

↑ FACT SHEETLead Forensics pricing and the Essential plan

Lead Forensics offers two plans, Essentials and Automate, and neither carries a price. The pricing page says cost is "calculated based on your website visitors," and both plans link only to a demo booking. A representative reviews your website traffic volume at the end of the trial and sets the custom quote from it, so traffic volume is the main lever on cost.

To cut to the chase on plans: Essentials, the entry plan, covers the nine core features above. Automate adds CRM integration, workflow automation with CRM lead creation, automated lead routing, and ABM account matching. Users are unlimited on both, and the page states extra logins don't raise the price, so every sales representative and marketer can log in while the quote tracks traffic alone.

Two columns comparing statements on the Lead Forensics pricing page with other pages on leadforensics.com: trial length of one week against two weeks, decision-maker contacts listed as a plan feature against available for an additional fee, and price set by website visitors against share of traffic identified
Three statements on the pricing page don't match what other Lead Forensics pages say about the same terms.

Three statements on the vendor's own domain disagree. Its pricing page FAQ gives the trial as one week, while the demo process blog post says "Your free trial runs for two weeks." Contact data is the second gap.

The pricing page lists decision maker contact data as a plan feature, while the Lead Magic comparison page lists decision-maker contact details as "Available for an additional fee." And the comparison page says "Lead Forensics pricing is based on how much of your traffic we can identify," a narrower basis than total visitors.

Of the three, the devil's in the details on the last, because it decides the number on the quote. Ask in writing which measure sets the price and which contact data the plan includes; once the trial ends, the ball is in your court.

↑ FACT SHEETLead Forensics cost in practice

The only tracked purchase data comes from Vendr's marketplace page, which reports a median of $17,486 a year from 5 purchases, a low of $1,700 and a high of $70,613. Five purchases is a thin sample for software sold to thousands of companies, and the pricing opacity means buyers can't check a quote against a list, so treat the median as a reference point and expect your quote to follow your traffic.

Competitors publish their own estimates. Leadfeeder's comparison post, dated 11 September 2026 and written by a direct rival, puts Lead Forensics at "$500 to $5,000+ per month" and the Essential plan at $6,000 to $25,000 a year. Those are a rival's estimates; Vendr's header figures are the tracked data.

At the median, that's about 17,500 dollars annually, or roughly $1,457 a month. For comparison, the Demandbase pricing report tracks a $68,591 median, and the Clearbit pricing report and intent data pricing report show where adjacent tools land.

The ROI case depends on closing deals from the leads. An education management reviewer on Capterra UK, September 2026, reports a positive ROI: "already have generated more income than we invested." The same platform's reviewers score value for money at 4.2 out of 5, below the 4.5 overall rating.

↑ FACT SHEETHidden costs, annual contracts and renewal terms

The pricing page publishes no contract length, billing cycle or cancellation terms, a red flag for any buyer reading the fine print. User reviews fill that gap, and the pattern is consistent: annual contracts that renew on their own unless notice arrives months ahead. A G2 reviewer, a marketing project strategist, wrote in July 2026:

"I would warn others about the auto-renew policy that kicks in 3 months before the end of the contract."

Emily P., Marketing Project Strategist, G2, July 2026

A Trustpilot reviewer from September 2026 describes the same clock with a full-year consequence:

"They have 90 day cancellation terms but instead of extra cost they feel they can renew you automatically for a full year."

Ashley Vaughan, Trustpilot, 16 September 2026

The same reviewer concludes the product "isn't worth the high fee they charge." Another Trustpilot reviewer, a week later, reports "an unexplainable 10% price increase and with no advice, warning or reminder." Lead Forensics customers who want to leave should put a renewal date in the calendar the day the contract is signed; a stitch in time saves nine.

The complaint has a long history. A 2013 post on UK Business Forums described "My experience of using the Lead Forensics service, which I'm still paying for due to being locked in a contract." CRM integration has also been priced separately: a retail operations manager who picked Leadfeeder in May 2021 wrote on Capterra that "LeadFeeder came in at half the price and they do not charge for crm integrations the way Lead Forensics does."

↑ FACT SHEETIntegrations and how data reaches the CRM

The Lead Forensics homepage names Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Pipedrive and Zoho, with a link to a longer integrations list. On the pricing page, CRM integration and CRM lead creation sit in the Automate column, so an Essentials buyer works inside the native lead manager and exports from there.

Sync quality draws one recurring complaint from Lead Forensics customers. A Gartner Peer Insights reviewer reports "Occasional hiccups and integration problems. Visitor data wasn't being correctly attributed when integrated with HubSpot." Another, a software-sector marketing manager in February 2026, headlined a 3-star review "Good for precise control over visitors and traffic, but buggy."

↑ FACT SHEETSupport, onboarding and the account manager

Support is where Lead Forensics earned its strongest marks. Its homepage displays G2 badges for Fastest Implementation, Best Support and Best Relationship (Mid-Market), and every plan includes a dedicated success contact and access to a training academy with certifications.

Reviewers describe teams that hit the ground running and an account manager who stays involved after setup, with continued support and regular check-ins through implementation:

"We've had a great onboarding experience with Lead Forensics, as well as continued support throughout our implementation."

Marketing Manager, IT services, $50M to $1B revenue, Gartner Peer Insights, May 2026

A chief sales officer on G2, June 2026, wrote: "The implementation into our daily work routine was uncomplicated. The navigation is very intuitive." A Capterra UK reviewer in oil and energy, September 2026, adds that "The longer you have the subscription for, the better it gets with greater data and contacts."

↑ FACT SHEETWhat Lead Forensics reviews say across four review sites

Bar chart of Lead Forensics average ratings: G2 4.4 from 1,187 reviews, Trustpilot 4.6 from 993 reviews, Capterra UK 4.5 from 266 reviews, Gartner Peer Insights 4.6 from 78 ratings
G2 carries the largest sample and the lowest average of the four review sites.

Across the Lead Forensics reviews on four sites, ratings sit between 4.4 and 4.6. G2 shows 4.4 from 1,187 reviews, Trustpilot 4.6 from 993, Capterra UK 4.5 from 266, and Gartner Peer Insights 4.6 from 78 ratings, none of them one or two stars. How far to trust any review platform is its own question, covered in our reports on Capterra and G2.

The praise centres on support and reporting, and the criticism on contracts, renewal increases and stale contacts. GetApp's review summary notes that "pricing feels high for smaller businesses." A Capterra UK reviewer in health care calls it "incredible value for money," which shows how much the quote varies between buyers.

↑ FACT SHEETPrivacy, GDPR and outreach

The Lead Forensics footer carries a GDPR-compliant badge, a UKAS-accredited ISO 27001 mark and links to a Trust Center, a CCPA page and a customer data-compliance FAQ. The public compliance page itself gives no legal basis or retention period, so ask for the data processing agreement during the trial.

The outreach model has drawn criticism since the early days of the product.

On a 2012 UK Business Forums thread, one business owner wrote "I wouldn't be happy to get a phone call from someone whose website I had been looking at." Fourteen years on, the same question applies to every IP-based tool on this list. Sales reps who call identified visitors cold should script the first call around what the prospect read, the approach most visitor identification solutions and their customers recommend.

↑ FACT SHEETCompany background

Lead Forensics Limited is a private company, registered at Companies House as company number 07158006, incorporated on 15 February 2010 under the name Web Forensics Limited and renamed in January 2011. Its registered office sits at 3000 Lakeside, Portsmouth. It isn't publicly listed, so revenue and headcount come from its statutory filings.

The about page says it is "Trusted by 10,000 growing businesses," with UK and US sales lines. That puts it among the longest-running vendors in the visitor intelligence software ranking, where it places tenth as the only one of ten vendors with no published price.

RB2B wins for a US-focused team that wants to identify the person, with a sales rep alerted in Slack. The RB2B pricing page starts at $0 for 150 monthly resolutions and $79 for Starter, with Pro from $149. It loses on traffic outside the US, where its person-level matching stops.

Snitcher, a website visitor identification tool for customers on small budgets, wins for a small site that wants a published volume ladder. The Snitcher pricing page starts at $49 a month for up to 50 identified companies, climbs to $529 for 4,001 to 5,000, and offers a 14-day trial without a card. It loses for a team that wants managed onboarding and training, which Lead Forensics bundles into both plans.

Demandbase wins for an enterprise ABM programme that wants intent data and advertising on one contract, at a $68,591 Vendr median. It loses for any team whose budget sits near Lead Forensics' $17,486 median. The ABM platforms ranking, the intent data providers ranking and the lead intelligence software ranking cover the wider field, including 6sense and ZoomInfo.

↑ FACT SHEETFrequently asked questions

Is Lead Forensics worth it?

It's worth it for a sales team that will call identified accounts within hours and values a named account manager. Capterra UK reviewers score value for money at 4.2 out of 5, and user reviews flag auto-renewal three months before contract end, so price the contract terms along with the platform.

How much does Lead Forensics cost?

Lead Forensics gives a custom quote after a free trial measures how much traffic your site gets from businesses. Vendr's data from 5 purchases shows a $17,486 median a year, ranging from $1,700 to $70,613.

What does Lead Forensics do?

It identifies the companies visiting your website from their IP addresses, turning website visitors into leads, attaches decision-maker contacts and firmographics, sends real-time alerts and reports which campaigns bring in opportunities.

How much does a Leadfeeder cost?

Leadfeeder's Lite plan is free for 100 identified companies a month. Discover costs €79 a month billed annually, or €113 monthly, and Activate €369 a month billed annually.

↑ FACT SHEETVerdict

Lead Forensics fits a mid-market or enterprise sales team with steady business traffic, high intent website visitors and reps ready to call leads, a CRM it can feed through the Automate plan, and a preference for a dedicated account manager. The 4.4 to 4.6 ratings across four review sites and the Fastest Implementation and Best Support badges back that fit, and its unlimited users let a whole sales and marketing department log in at one price.

It doesn't fit a founder or a 10-person team that wants transparent pricing and monthly billing. The rate card is hidden, Vendr's range runs from $1,700 to $70,613, and users describe auto-renewal windows of 90 days and a 10% renewal increase.

It might suit a team comparing it with Leadfeeder or Snitcher on its own traffic, with the caveats named: confirm the trial length, which contact data the plan includes, and the notice period in writing before you sign. The scores in the fact sheet above follow from those points: 15 on price transparency for the hidden rate card, 25 on contract flexibility for the renewal terms, and 85 on support for the badges and the onboarding reviews.
